howdy, I am planning on trying this. 550 gr, .512 gc hardcast FN bullets H414 starting at 95 gr, working up to a good training load. est 1900fps I WANT 2250fps, and estimate I can get that around 115gr of H414... I am buying these bullets from Wayne Doubna, and we spoke that these will be running fast, and he will be making them hard. I don't know what Lube, thoughts? yes, I know my practice loads are "more" than the 458 winnie jeffe

Jeff, I used 100 gr of varget with both a 535 gr and 600 gr cast bullet, the 535 gr clocked 2250, the 600 gr clocked 2200 fps. Due to my stock not being bedded, I have no idea about the accuracy potential. With a hard bullet and a good lube, the speed shouldn't be a problem. The only potential snag would be if you are using a fast twist barrel, it 1-10, as it'll put alot more stress on the bullet then a 1-15 or 1-18 will.
