I don't know if "Mose" posts here or if any of you know him, he posts a little over at HA and asked me if I wouldn't like to try a few of his boolets in my White 98. Throw me in that briar patch!!! [Big Grin]

Mose sent me some of the smaller bullets as pictured below, sized to .451 and weighing an average of 421.5 grains lubed. They are dropped from a custom Mountain Mold that he only recently obtained.

I got a chance to shoot a bit yesterday afternoon and started out with some 475 grain Whitworths sent to me by another online friend. Those Whitworths did okay but I know they will do better. I was a bit shakey from morning coffee and a late night before, so can't blame the near 2" group at 100 yards on the bullets. It was me.

Those Whitworths struck the target about 2.5" above the bull.

As with the Whitworths, I used 80 grains of Pyrodex P and proceeded to fire three rounds of the "Mose" bullets at a fresh target. I had calmed a bit from the previous shots. Here is the result with a green Post-It behind the holes for clarity...

MAN!! Those suckers are not only some of the prettiest cast bullets I've ever seen, they also shoot beautifully, striking the target essentially 2" to the exact right of the Whitworth group. My shooting session was cut short by wandering cows deciding they wanted to hang out near the backstop. Only have about 30 of those bullets left but may tweak them over to the left a bit and hunt with them this fall.

The best I've done with my own "not so purty" bullets is 3 in a 5/8" group. The above is the first and only group I've shot with the Mose boolets.

I cast but at no where near the level of perfection this feller has attained. The bullets are 1.5% tin and should be excellent game-getters to boot. Got to get some more!!!

And, oh by the way, I'm the one that named them NoBS. Mose is too modest for such as that. [Smile]
