Anyone have any load data for shooting heavies in the 454? By which I mean 405g and 518g. If not, any idea on what powders might be good?

I've shot 405's out of my Raging Bull useing 296 and while I got fairly high velocties, the bullets wouldn't stabilize. Most of them went through the target sideways. I have shot 350gn bullets with good success and someone here is haveing a 380gn mold made. I hope to test some of those when it's done. If you have quickload, I would check there for an estimate of pressures on 296 or maybe AA1680. If not, post your bullet length and max cartrige length and I'll run some numbers through.

Sean, what is the twist on the Ruger? I had my 45-70 405's sized down and going 1550. I know they were way hot and I didn't go back there. Maybe my problem was with the .458's sized down to .452?
