I was successful in following the link to the archives from Shooter's and can drill down to open individual threads...

But - haven't figured out if/how you can review the titles for the threads beforehand. Would greatly appreciate some instruction on how to navigate the archives more effectively.

Also - is there a way to still use a search function on the archives?

Much obliged!

SkyC,
I'm not sure I understand what you're seeing.
Here's a link to the Master Shooters Index
This is the Cast Bullet Index
From this second link, each link should give you an index page with a bunch of threads listed, with the Title, Author of first post, etc. For instance, THIS ONE .
As for searching, Sorry, no. I tried to add a search function, but it didn't work after I followed the directions. Typical Linux documentation... they ASSUME you know you're supposed to do something, so omit it entirely. However, it's still a project I'd like to do, but don't know when I'll get around to it.
You can download the data and put it on your local HD, and use the Windows Search function. I've got instructions on how to do that posted over on the Cast Boolits board at Aimoo (or is it here?). That might help you out some.

LostCajun:

Checked the post over at Aimoo but no instructions about downloading to hard drive, etc.

I logged onto the site & downloaded the zip files but as noted - the titles of the individual files are just numbers- no text to give a hint about the topic or contents. If you could refer me to the specific post or respond to this thread with instructions again - would very much appreciate it.

Thanks-

Sky C.

SkyC,
OK. I think I have it now.. you must be looking at the directory listing. In that list of files, there'll be one called "index.htm". Open that page to see a listing of all the topic threads contained in that directory.
The "Cast Bullet Index" link in my previous post in this thread will take you to the list of Cast Bullet inexes (indices?). Anyway, the Cast Bullet Index link will give you access to any thread within 2 clicks, and maybe some scrolling.
