Truthfully, I do have a use for the mould. I plan on loading these into unsized 30-30 cases as a squib load. I've been wanting something quiet to shoot that would be easy to load. I've read about people shooting oversized lead balls- .315 to .318" -out of 30 cal cartridges without sizing the cases. Just repriming and charging with a bit of Bullseye or 700x.
I also have a friend who loads for an old 32 J frame S&W. Figured he could use some of these.
Of course, I wouldn't mind having a 32 Mag barrel for the Contender..........

I went to a gun shop the other day and saw an old Lyman mould #313492. It is a 2 cavity full wad cutter, 32 caliber. Only trouble is I don't own a 32 caliber firearm. That didn't stop me from buying the mould. Especially since the price was $35 and it is in new condition. I figure I can cast soft lead bullets from it and use them as low velocity loads from my 30-30.

Is this a symptom of some sort of disease?

Not a symptom, merely the medication

Good score! One light (gallery) load I have for my 30-30 is a 100 gr. bullet with 4.5 Gr. of Unique. Reasonaly quite and a good small game load to about 35 yards from my M94. I've been planning on trying it in my conterder 30-30 as well.
BTW, casting is not a disease. It's the way to enlightenment.
