Hi, thought I would post this here for all. I've had a few emails with questions about the process.

The idea for something new is propossed. There is a mostly free exchange of ideas. The ideas get boiled down into a picture, then more exchange of ideas. Something is finally agreed upon by hopefully a majority. If there appears to be enough interest, then orders are collected. After the order has been open for awhile, an end date for collection is set. After that the order is placed to LEE. LEE takes about 2 months to fill the order, 99% of that time is waiting in line for ours to be cut. When the molds come, they go out in the mail. Some folks hold the checks until the molds are shipped. I believe that was how it was originally done by most. At the time the order is placed, Lee requires a payment or credit card #. They place the charge on the card well before the order is cut. My wife had a problem with paying interest on the order, so I have been cashing the checks when the charge hits my card to pay off the charge and not incurr any interest. When the molds get to me, I put shipping labels on them, tape them up and haul them all to the post office to be shipped on the same day.

It is no real problem for me to collect the orders and send them out. I put the orders as they come in in an excell sheet and sort by ZIP code. The envelopes go into a big envelope next to my monitor until the molds have been shipped.

Just for clarification, this is not a bussiness for me but just a part of our collective hobby. I'm sure that most of the posters here are aware of the whole process, but as new people come in, I just want it stated clearly. (Also new people are most welcome and wanted. A greater bunch of people you may never find)

The number of molds to be ordered is a guess. I have been putting a few extra on the order as there always seems to be more interest later as word gets around. Guessing how many more to order is just that, a Guess.

We as a group might try to come up with a more consistent numbering system for the molds.

There has been some confusion on the 30-TL-160 that has recently been mailed out and the Fat-30. or maybe the C315-190-tapered bore rider (TPR)? Some discussion on this might be warented. Maybe it might be possible to put a new page up on castpics that will have a drawing of the molds done with a short discription and date made?

Thoughts, suggestions?

What LAR said on the checks. When the charge hits my card on the .25-20 project, I cash the checks.
