Getting ready for muzzle loader season one year, I got the rifle out of the cabinet and went to the back porch, put a cap on, pointed at the floor and fired. I was watching for the normal blowing of dust to let me know the barrel was clear. What I got was the load I left in from the year before going off.My wife and kids came running. The back porch was full of smoke, the floor had a crater, the dryer was wounded, and I was standing there trying to figure out why my pants where wet and warm. Now all of my BP rifles go it the cabinet with the ramrods in the barrels. Incidents like that will make your very aware after that, I now find that I triple check myself alot. I not sure I still have all of that luck I had when I was growing up. A friend that I grew up with and I got together and were talking about all the crazy stuff we did and how it was a miracle that we were still here, we both agreed that all the praying our mothers did every time we left the house was the real answer. | ||
