I have a Lyman and a Star but I have found for rifle bullets I use the little Lee die and lube most.

for a long time i melted lube in a cup in the wave and dipped the boolits in it and set on some of that waxed paper then pushed through the sizer, cheap and effective.

the Star is the only answer, especially of you load big bores.

Thanks Guys. I will see if I can find a used star as this will only be for 450 and 500 cast.

Star has been out of business for quite a while.

However you can get a Star designed lub machine from Magma at 480-987-9704.

They are @ $250.oo.

They can size up to a .585.

That was another thing I liked about the Lee sizer, the cost!

Will the Lee handle the .510 cast loads?

i agree with SS; liquid alox and lee push thru sizers are efficient, effective and inexpensive for all my ww2 milsurps. at 1800 fps velocities i find no leading in anything.

lee lists sizers up to .510" dia. and are easily honed out providing inexpensive, custom sizes.

i use liquid alox and lee sizers for all my sizing chores...my $$$ rcbs lubrisizer and dies sets are gathering dust.

If I was going to not load on a commercial basis and lube up just 4 or 5 hundred now & then, I'd get an RCBS I think. I have a Lyman and it leaks from the bottom. The RCBS can use Lyman dies but the ones they sell are better (also more $). Lee is great until I have to wipe off all the lube on the base before putting on the gas check. Depends on if you have lots of free time I guess.

I use lee push threw sizers and liquid alox I haven't use my lyman sizer in years. I lubed and sized about 6000 bullets last winter worked great. I use a 3 step process I light lube them the size them and the lube them again with the liquid alox it is fast and smiple I do up to 468 gr 45 cal bullets. I put cast checks on them during sizing.

I even taken lee sizers and polished them out sizes they don't carry but I needed.
