As the price of componants keeps climbing,I wanted a cheap plinking bullet for my 500 Jeffery. I had Tom at Accurate mold make a 700 grain wide flat nose gas check. I size it to .513 and have had good luck with them so far. I have been using wheel weights with about 2% tin added. I have been loading them light 102 grains of H 4350 gets me 1950 fps. They are hunting accurate, and don't lead up my barrel, even though I am pushing the limits of tumble lube. If anyone has suggestions on a safe load that would get me down in the 1700-1800 fps range, that would be great. I don't like playing with reduced loads. This was recovered after penetrating 18" of wet newpaper at 50 yards. Recovered weight was 683 grains. It expanded to 1.078"

I think your right, its low velocity, and holds together well. It should'nt ruin much meat other than the one inch hole. Although in the wet news paper I was able to put my fist in the temporary wound cavity after the fifth inch of penetration. I might use it come hunting season this year, should be interesting.
