I posted about my 308 cast bullet not expanding and some say I did not push it enough to maybe expand. Some one gave me a other thing to think about. My Encore has a 15 inch barrel and they said if the load I used was tested in a rifle barrel say a average of 22 inches, that is 7 inches difference that would lower the velocity out of my Encore which MAYBE is why the bullet did not expand. What do you guys think and if so how should I go about figuring out a load since I do not have access to a chrony? Jim

Not Cheap just poor if I cannot afford jacketed bullets and switched to cast to save money plus the enjoyment of making my own I sure cannot afford a chrony. Heck it is a stretch buying powder and other neccesities.

You can buy a refurbished Chrony for $50.

Let's all pitch in a few bucks and buy him one..
