If there is a machinist in the house, I have a DC Lyman mould 255 RF mould that already casts .456-457. It's of ancient vintage and was apparently intended for the pre-war .45 Colts of .454 groove diameter. I have considered lapping it out a couple of thous myself.

That oughta tell us real quick how practical such a bullet would be in a .45-70.
