Since we have pretty much enough money collected for the spring shoot and all the people who have e-mailed me should have their bolts already in the mail to me by now, let's mention that this is the last week I will be accepting any new players for the bolt bending deal.

Offer ends this upcoming Saturday, September 6th.

Any of you last minute Mauser bolt bending fence sitters, time to get up off the sharp pointy things one way or another.

$19 donation bends it and gets the square bolt root put back to rights, leaving you the forged area to grind down and the black discoloration to polish off handle and bolt end.

$29 donation bends it, squares the root up and gets your forged area all pre-ground on a curved radius for you (similar to the pictures). You still have to polish the black off of everything else.

Except for return shipping cost dollars, all the money collected goes to the Root's Roost Rendezvous for Spring 2004.

(you also get your bolt bent for cheap)

E-mail me at Oldfeller123@aol.com for the mailing address.

Back up to the top with you, post, for public reminder purposes.

===========================

Now, when we fell in from the sky a week or so back this list had over a month's worth of traffic history captured on the topic display page.

Now, just 3-4 days worth of stuff is taking up the same space. Topics that had been getting 3-4 responses before are getting a dozen or more responses now (some even make sense).

Let's see, we did a bolt bending offer and collected some money to set up a "maybe" fall and a definite spring East Coast shoot (Root's Roost). We birthed a back-up list and found everybody who wanted to be found (and even some that didn't).

And we behaved ourselves (mostly). Even Ray and his buddies behaved over on the cat shooting small game list. Amazing, isn't it?

My house is feeling all popular again, all of a sudden. This alerted my wife, who said "Those aren't molds, are they? You PROMISED me no more molds, ever ...."

No, sweetie, these are mauser bolt handles -- not molds. And lookit, there aren't all that many of them, not like last time at all.

(she has these visions of of boxes and boxes and boxes of molds molds molds, molds in the sink, molds on the range, molds and moly fingerprints everywhere)
