I'm in SW Idaho, what are you guys seeing for WW prices? I have someone interested in buying some of my smelted 3lb ingots. Any thoughts on a price? I quoted him $58 for 68-69lbs in a flat rate box.

Based on Cast Boolits and Ebay traffic you are about at the low end of the price range.

The majority of sellers seem to be stuck on $1/lb plus shipping but they don't always sell it.
You might check the completed auctions on Ebay for a better reference.

Do you have any pure lead stick weight metal?
this would be metal at <<5 Brinell.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Aim high when you sell. Tomorrow my buddy and I are going to smelt about 500 pounds of the stick-on WW's. They are supposed to be pure lead according to what I can find on the net. Let me know tomorrow after 6pm if you are interested.

I am unsure if this will help. But, I went to a local tire place where my brother used to work. Asked them if I could buy some used wheel weights for casting. They didnt have a problem with it and one of the managers asked to buy some bullets.
They charged me the same for what they get from the guy at the scrap yard. It was about 3 years back at 10 bucks for a 5 gal pail. So it was roughly 150lbs of used weights. Man you should have seen us try and get that in the back of a wrangler!

I was curios if tire lead was a good enough quality to cast. I thought about it but never tried it.

If you look them up you can see where they are different. But if you get a large bucket like I did, something I didn't do is separate the stick on's because those from what I m told is 100% lead so your mixes may get throne off from batch to batch.

I would only use them for my 44 revolver. I never could hit the broad side of a barn with a pistol any ways.

The past two days found me at 3 different tire stores. Silly me offered the guy $1 lb. He took it. I got an entire 5 gal bucket, about 140 lbs worth. The next two stores didn't ask, I didn't offer to pay. Got 90 lbs between the two of them. Worked out to .61 cents/lb. I'm still smelting so not sure what the total will be weight in ingots will be yet.

We still get them for free in a lot of tire shops here in Australia, in the last six mounths i have collected about 500lbs.....my aim is to collect enough to cast 5000 400gn 416 proj for my 416 ruger, then i will be happy !!
With the comming ban on lead ww in the auto industry sourcing ww will become increasingly difficult

You only need about 285 lbs for what mentioned.
