That does seem strange. I have never looked at mine that way but with a die in place the plunger appears to align very well with no side contact. Have you put a die in it and checked the alignment?

the die is in the press, i pull the handle down , and watch the top punch make its way down the sizeing die, and the top punch is completley to one side, however the top punch dies not touch the side wall of the sizeing die

Maybe your star sizer is offset because it is set up for mass production--constellation sizing.

Pretty much a jackass answer, as far as I am concerned. You don't help the guy a bit...

Try a few bullets and see how they come out of the sizer. If they seem to be okay, shoot and see how they act. Might even mike them if you have a micrometer.

Then: if the bullets act up, send a letter to Magma and explain what you have. They have Mondays too, and things get past QC... get instructions from them and then send it back if all is not well. I have to believe they will make it good.

Glad there is no issue with the Star. It is a fine handloading accessory.

Doubless--Glad you liked my answer so much. The guy asks if it is normal? Normal for him to operate things upside down? If so hope he doesn't get a boat. Normal for an upside down Star sizer to be offset? How would most folks know--operating them upside down would probably be abnormal.
