Folks--I recently bought a .431 Saeco sizing die. The die sizes various alloys and hardnesses to .432 and .432+. Clearly this die is oversize. I have contacted Redding about this problem just yesterday, and thus have not received a factory "fix" yet. I am looking for a Saeco die in the .4305 to .431 range and would gladly trade this die for one. I presently use a .429 Saeco die that turns boolits to .429 and I use a .430 Saeco die that turns boolits to .4296. Since I already have Lyman dies that cover .432, I don't need this one. Is there any .44 shooters "out there" that would love to have a .432 Saeco die even tho it is marked .431? --Shuz

Ray, on second thought, my die sizes large also. So, send it to me anyway, and I will send the one that sizes smallest back to you. ... felix

felix--I got a very nice reply from the folks at Redding/SAECO yesterday. They said to send the die back to them and they will pin mic a die and send me one that sizes to .431. So, I guess that is what I should do. Are you looking for a .432 Saeco die? If so I could put a note on this one and have them hold it for your order?--Shuz

No, Ray, go ahead with shipment to Saeco with no notes. I have a feeling it's just a tolerance problem. If this is indeed true, make sure you send your boolits with the die so they can make one to force THOSE boolits to 431 or whatever you say. ... felix

Be sure and send Saeco a large enough sample of your bullets in the alloy you intend to cast so the final bullets will be the size you want with the alloy you will use. Each alloy has its own amount of spring back after sizing. - Lew
