I tried out these two 6-holers last night, and was very pleased with them. With the BD45 in particular, if I opened the mold and blinked my eyes, that seemed to set up enough vibration for the boolits to drop out. Well, ok, once or twice I had to shake the mold a little bit to get the last one to fall. I haven't loaded any yet, but I have a pretty good supply of each (30 lbs of the BD45 and 20 lbs of the 113-grainers).

Anyone else have any problems with these molds?

No problem with the 113 grainers. Snap the mould open and bring the hinge down on the edge of my drop box and out they pop.

I'm housesitting an empty house a couple of nights a week. I'll size and GC the bulk of them there.

Grumble, I cast for about three hours last Saturday, using (3) Lee 6 cavity molds. The recently acquired 113 grain 30 caliber mold was a real pleasure to use.

My RCBS furnace was in top form, giving me just the right temperature and no stoppages due to nozzle freeze. Wow, it doesn't get much better than that, having your favorite 6 holers producing great bullets as fast as you can fill and empty them. Turbo

My "Soupcan" 6 holer is producing by the coffee can full of bullets. I don't need my wood hammer handle with the Lee 6 holers the bullets just seem to want to fall out by themselves.

I haven't gone into production yet with my .30 cal 113 6 cavity but I prepped it and tried it out when I first got it and it works great.

I cast about 15 pounds of boolits with the .30 cal. 113 gr. I didn't have to do much prep to the mould at all. The boolits just dropped out after I opened the mould.

I loaded up 30 rounds to see how they would function in my .30 M1 Carbine and went outback to my range. Offhand at 30 yards I put all 30 in a group that I easily covered with the palm of my hand. That carbine never shot like that before. Function was perfect also.

The .300 Savage is next.

Grumble -
Got my BD45 today (Thanx Sundog!). Fired it right up. As you say pop it open and there was no hesitation on the boolets dropping out. BUT, they were wrinkeled for the first 10 fills or so (casting mystery alloy (soft) #3 at 800dF (max for the Lyman 20lb.). As soon as the mould warmed up - beautiful boolets, but slightly sticking - no big deal. Weighed in at 234gr and miked at .456 diameter. FWIW. Had to have one for two reasons: the concept of the design and I did the cad drawings. Don't know about 45acp but my application is in 45 Colt in a 94 Trapper and possibly as super light plinkers in either 45-70 or .458WM (if they're big enough).
