A word of caution. Back on the old Shooter's CB board, we'd discussed this surplus powder on a couple of occasions. A few of us using it had mediocre results, some of us did better. I was getting great results in the 45-70 with cast boolits and in the 300 Savage with 150 grain condoms. At the time, we were treating it like slow 3031. Well, I finally got to chronographing those loads and found out this stuff, the lot I have anyway, is considerably hotter than 3031. In the 45-70 using the Lee 405 FP, 50 grains of 3031 gives me about 1650 fps. The same boolit and 50 grains of CMR100 gives me 1870 fps. In the 300 Savage, 38 grains of CMR100 gets me 125 fps more than the same amount of 3031 with more primer flatness. I don't know how much of this stuff is still around, I bought mine from Jeff Bartlett and he doesn't list it anymore.

The Army's ammo spec tables list 45 gr. of CMR-100 as the nominal charge for the M2 Ball 150 gr. 30-06, as opposed to 50 gr. of either 4895 or 852.
