In the 44 mag and special in a smith,I've always sized bullets to .429 and have always had great luck with them. When throwing around the keith bullet, you have to consider that there are literally hundreds of variations floating around. That have none of the features keith put into his design, yet carry the keith name. Keith fought with lyman all the time over the modifications to his bullet designs. With that said,I have original 429421 moulds and I have a new lyman 429421 and all will shoot moa in my revolvers and a dozen or so others that we've loaded them in. Don't let cast bullets intimidate you. Its like most all the bullshit you read on the net, very little of it has factual basis.Cast a bunch of bullets and practice until your able to cast good. The worst that can happen,is you'll throw a bad bullet and have to remelt it and cast another.Big deal. The greatest factor in casting good bullets,is consistancy. In a revolver, the best bet you'll have,is using a 1:16 lead mixture. In an auto 1:10 is usually optimum. Nowdays you have a trend toward hard lead and there isn't any basis for it and in most cases the harder your cast the less accuracy you'll get. Everybody is hung up on the linotype bullshit. The fact is you don't need that type of hardness and in fact the softer alloys will upset better during firing and seal better.Buffalo rifles create far greater velocity then the heaviest magnum handgun loads and the standard alloy in these rifles is 1:16. The use of a gas check isn't necessary either in a pistol bullet. If you take the time to learn and experiment with casting, you won't need the band aid that a gas check presents.

Apology in order, BFR Shooter. You are correct, you did say the 429421 shot well. I read the response by Popenman and wrongly attributed it to you... Again, I apologize. I have both the #503 and #258 in gang moulds (six cavity) from Hensley and Gibbs. Both are authentic Keith designs, down to the square grease grooves, and both are extraordinarily accurate. Just wish I had more time to shoot..
