I have a box of 416 beartooth bullets here that are lead with copper bases. I have very little experience shooting lead bullets at higher velocities.
I intend to use these bullets for practice, lots of practice.
Can somebody give me a basic breakdown of what I can expect as far as leading goes. I will look at casting my own bullets if it makes sense.

I think you can look forward to virtually no leading. I am not certain it is physically possible for a gas checked bullet to lead, but if it were, I don't think there is a man out there that could put up with the recoil required to generate the velocity to do so!

All the talk of leading as if it were a deadly cancer is very funny. How many leaded up .22 rimfire barrels have you seen? All they shoot is lead bullets. Get some leading and it cleans out--no surgery, radiation or cheemo required.

You shouldn't have any problems with leading. 90% of what I shoot is plain based cast bullets and I have no issues. If you do run into a bit of leading the easiest way to remove it is to follow your session with a half dozen jacketed rounds....lead gone.
