Thanks, 45! Yep, everything's ok. I follow the threads still, just don't post as much as before.

Somehow, things seem to have changed and the "personality" of the group seems a bit sharper than it used to be. Probably just my perception, I just don't enjoy the reparte' like we had in the "old days." But, heck, like my daddy used to say, "boy, you learn a lot more listening than you do talking."

I have just started using a lee 6 cavity 148 grn WC with tumble lube grooves.I am sizing them .358. When i seat them some of them are off centered in the case, they will be straight on one side and a slight bulge on the other. They chamber fine, is it ok to shoot them. How can I stop this from happening.

Yup, they are safe to shoot, just a bit less accurate than they could be. That bulge is from your cases being too tight when you seat the bullets. I have run into lots of .38 Special brass that were not made to accept WC. You might find that some of your cases even show the bulge after expanding but before seating the bullet. It's a question of case/sizer/bullet fit.

Way I solved the problem was to buy 5k once fired Federal WC empties.

Something you can do to find out what's causing the problem is to see if the bulge is in the same place every time the round comes out of the seater die. If so, first thing to try is loosen up the lock nut on your die, run a round into it and with the round still in the die and the handle pushed all the way down, tighten up the lock nut. Sometimes there's enough play in those big 7/8 x 14 threads to allow the seating die to cant a little when the lock nut is cinched down.

Another thing to try is to seat the boolit slowly, in small increments, turning the case a little each time.

David,

Also just try sizing the case to the depth the bullet will be seated or maybe a bit less. Sometimes the sized portion of the case will expand when the bullet is inserted to match the unsized portion of the case and eliminate the bulging portion. Works on all my straight-walled cases. Good-luck...BCB
