I just picked up a Star Boolit sizer, cheap. I've heard good things about these units so I need to find some new sizer dies for this Star. I don't know where to look. I was hoping that someone might know. Thanks Mike

here ya go. www.magmaengr.com you will be looking at $32 ech and will want to give them some dimensions of your most popular bullets. number of grooves and distance between them. Go with extra lube port holes as you can always plug what is not needed. Jim

Don't do what I did. There is a tool to remove the die. They won't simply slide out of the base even with the set screw removed. Find or buy the removal pieces, they screw into the ram and use it to pull the die straight out. It took me about half an hour to find the right parts in my garage to push the die out using a C-clamp. I didn't hurt the machine at all. However, when I opened one of the die boxes that came with the press there was the removal tool . Later,

Soundman, For your star sizer, use soft bullet lube or some sort of heater if you just have to use hard lube. The star sizer was developed in the 1930's and was designed for use with soft lube. I use home made Felix lube and a light bulb next to the luber if it's cold in the garage. In warm weather, no heater is needed. With hard lube, a heater is mandatory or you will bend the handle or bust the star. Keep an eye out on eBay for Star sizer dies. If you find one smaller than you need at a good price, Stillwell Tool and Die can enlarge the hole up to 25 thousands for $17. They do a great job too. PhotonII (aka Turbo)
