What would the difference in pressure be if I picked a light 125 lead bullets load and submitted the Hornady xtp jacketed hollow point? Thank you.

Phil, Quickload says the Lee .358-125 mold lead bullet with 20 grains of Win 296 is 30,103psi and the 125 gr XTP/HP with 20 grains of Winc 296 is 36,530. HTH.

Phil BHN or Brinell Hardness is used to detrmine the PSI to Obturate a bullet 1422 X the BHN will give your the required PSI to obturate the bullet MonoType is 28 BHN = 39,816 PSI Linotype is 22 BHN = 31,284 PSI Pure Lead is 5 BHN = 7,110 PSI Copper varies from 35-50 BHN 35 = 49,770 psi min. This number for copper is from a search and I can't verify it applies to thin copper jackets over lead cores Bob in Jax

1422 is not a number for obduration. it is the number engineers use to determine the stress level of lead. god damn Richard LEE, and his bullshit. [he uses it as a maximum not a minimum B.T.way]
