After our monthly smallbore pistol silhouette match, I had an hour or two to play around with my new 1895 Chilean mauser. I had two different loads. I used 18.3 grains of IMR4227 and the RCBS 7mm 145gr borerider and a 140gr bullet from Beartooth bullets which I purchased a few eons ago. Both bullets were sized to .285. Shooting was done with stock sights at 50 yards off of bags and a 6 o'clock hold. Both points of impact were 2inches low and 3 inches to the right. With the RCBS loads, I was aiming at a spot of black spray paint and managed a 15 shot group of 4 inches. I decided to really take my time with the Beartooth bullets and put up a pistol target with a 4" bull. The group shrank to 1.5inches for 6 shots. I was very pleased. I did notice quite a bit of soot on the cases with the RCBS bullets. All in all, a good day of shooting.

........7br, good shooting. I like the RCBS 7mm-168 bullet most, but have to use the Lyman 150 gr Loverin in my Chilean M95 Infantry. The barrel is rather worn. Not mistreated as there's some shine but it must have had the dickens shot out of it :-). I think the leade ends somewhere under the rear sight <BG> ........Buckshot
