Felix...I took the CZ 30-06 out shooting the 299 and 284 boolit again. This time the rifle put 10 shots into a 1/2 inch square hole....yes square because it shot that kind of hole as though I were shooting the corners of a very small square. Looks like someone just punche a hole out of the target with a square punch. This was with the 299 boolit. The 284 was slightly bigger. To tell you the truth this rifle shoots cast better then condoms. So far the best I've done with condoms is 3/4 inch. As you know the rifle is scoped and it has a set trigger. Felix what caliber was/is your benchrest rifle?

Joe, my BR gun is a heavy varmit class 22/40, which is a 222 ackley. No longer competitive in the BR game because of wear and tear, but mostly because of the caliber. A 224 naturally needs much more weatherman ability than a 243 at 200. It is just too hard to compete with a 6PPC on the average circuit, unless you are the only weatherman for the whole day, not to mention a single relay. ... felix
