Do you get the same results if you drop the fresh cast bullet into water from the mold as you do heating in the oven afterwards ? seems like the first way would be the best, any one compare these ?

B'man, if you wait long enough after quenching by any method, the boolits will be uniform between themselves. The more erratic the quench between boolits, the more erratic the uniformity will be at shootin' time. Delay shooting water dropped boolits for at least 30 days. Best boolits in terms of uniformity will be 6 months to a year after quenching. The rate of change of boolit temp determines hardness, and for small 22 boolits, the hardness will be greater than for 45 boolits given the same drop time into the water. That is a good thought because the larger the boolit is in diameter, the softer you really want it anyway. ... felix
