I just bought a Lee Mould for my 8MM. It is a gas check bullet. I have heard of others shooting at lower velocity gas check style bullets with out the gas check for plinking and lower velocity loads. I have read C.E. Harris articles where he has done this with good results or at least according to him. Has any one done it here and how did it work for you? Jim

A gas check helps accuracy -- even at very low velocities. A gas check helps maintain bore "condition" & cleanliness by a scraping action, which plays at low velocity when powders don't always burn at their very cleanest.

I always use a check, even when harumphing.
