This may be a little off the subject but I am looking for information on making lead shot. Thought maybe some of you lead heads had tried it. Any and all info would be appreciated.

Never tried it, but the subject comes up here from time to time. Some searches on the old threads will pull you up some information. Try a search on ethylene. I know that was mentioned in one thread.

There's been a bunch of talk on at http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/index.php in the reloading section about making shot and making shotmakers.

Hey,

That shotgunworld is a great forum!

Been wanting to build one of those shotmakers for a long time and now I've got enough info to do it.

Ya that forum is pretty good.

I made a shotmaker modelled from an article I have about making bismuth shot, as that will be it primary function.
But I've been too busy to test it out so far.

Yeah. The home shotmakers use ethylene glycol as coolant. It's a word that ain't gonna show up in any other context on this forum which makes it a good word to search on. You'd get old and gray checking every hit on "shot".
