I've got both Ideal 429421 & 429421 hollow point molds for the .44 and don't own one .44 cal firearm. I bought into the .45 camp with my 454 casull, 45 colt model 94, and want to get a 1911 and .45 sixgun one of these days. My question is did Keith ever design bullet molds for the 45 that perform as good as these 44's? I haven't read any of the Keith books- I know, I know... I'm so ashamed..

Lyman's # 452424 and #454424 are Elmer Keith bullets. I doubt if Lyman makes them as hollow points anymore though. RCBS also makes a copy of Elmer's bullet, #45-255-SWC. I have that one and it is very accurate in my 45s. Paul B.

There's a rule here: When you get a mould for a new caliber, you have to buy at least one gun to use it for.

I hear ya Ricochet, and I was thinking of selling them to buy some .45 molds, but I know as soon as I do- Mr. 44 magnum or 444 Marlin will come into my life..
