tyvm, now if the weather will cooperate I'll make enough to reload. It was kind of cold and windy tonight, made keeping the lead a steady temperature difficult. Even my spell checker wants to replace Obama, it just doesn't have any suggestions. jerry.baldwin06@comcast.net

Cast outside? I know of people who cast on there stove with the ventilation fan running. I bought one of those fans and installed it into my shop over a propane camp stove. I would send photos but I don't have any and my shop is gutted. My milling machine(new-to-me) crushed my floor. Slight over site on my end. Just be safe about it and you will be fine. Let us know how they shoot! I wanna see targets!! Disabled Vet(non-combat) - US Army NRA LIFE MEMBER Hunter, trapper, machinest, gamer, angler, and all around do it your selfer. The turkey fryer and cast iron dutch oven I have right now I bought to melt down wheel weights. I intend on getting an electric furnace as my reloading room has a window directly over my bench and I plan on putting a window fan there to blow out the fumes while I sit in comfort at my normal reloading bench. I set my cold weather casting plan with 390cfm exhaust fans, one directly over each pot inside my shop. My electrician wired the switches to automatically turn the fans on when I flipped each switch on to provide power to that outlet. Takes an extra $20 per. Good Luck with our casting addiction Rich

Fortunately Idaho, I am an electrical engineer specializing in industrial controls. In fact my reloading room was a storage shed when I moved in that the previous owner had strung a piece of romax through a tree to provide a light and a couple of outlets. I installed a Circuit breaker panel to provide me with some power options. Unfortunately this house was built in the mid 70's so the electrical drop is completely inadequate for what I'd like to do and we plan on moving back to northern Idaho so this set up will never be completely correct. Now only if you lived in central Maine I'd be one happy person! I have to start with a fresh slate in wiring up my shop. Machining equipment uses more then a 110V! But, one of my brothers from the lodge said he'd do it. Now you never said what type of rifle you'll be using this sweets in? Are this for muzzle loading? What caliber are they? Do you have any new molds your thinking of buying? Disabled Vet(non-combat) - US Army NRA LIFE MEMBER Hunter, trapper, machinest, gamer, angler, and all around do it your selfer. This link will be informative reading if your budget or preference is towards Lee Precision electric casters. I see you're already using one of Lee's tumble lube molds. I like them and Lee's liquid alox too. Most of the time the boolits come out the correct diameter so I don't bother running them through Lee's nifty lube/sizer...but need to to seat gas checks. Next you'll have to weld up a bullet trap to recycle all those boolits. Talk about economy, talk about bang for the buck...if you recycle both the boolits and the brass umteen times and the powder costs being only about 1.1 cents per shot if you load 4.0gr, the major expense will be the primers and electricity to keep remelting the same lead over and over. Another plus is if you add tin to your basic wheelweights, it's always in the same proportion in the scrap. Win win!

These are .45acp I will be firing them in my carry gun a Ruger P345. I'll be working my load op with HP38 and WLP primers in assorted brass. My next mold will be for my SKS. Lee makes a mold for it but I want to slug my barrel first as I know SKS barrels tend to vary so I want to make sure I get the proper diameter for the gun. After that I'm looking for a single shot (thinking Rossi Wizard) in 45-70. Even my spell checker wants to replace Obama, it just doesn't have any suggestions. jerry.baldwin06@comcast.net

Well I cast some more today. I've got about 200 that look like the ones in the picture. I've got about 50 that look a little frosty. I broke out the calipers and scale to get a few measurements. These were cast with straight wheel weights in a Lee TL452-230-2R 2-cavity mold. The bullets I measured with calipers all measured at .452 the weight ranged from 233.4 to 235.1 grains Even my spell checker wants to replace Obama, it just doesn't have any suggestions. jerry.baldwin06@comcast.net
