........Well there ole son, that would be: Nevada Cast Bullet Shoot. Another name would have to be Winnemucca '01, '02, and '03. And before Winnemucca it was Topaz Lake, NV.

A picture from the 2002 shoot:

What the deal is is that several of the posters at the old Shooters.com cast bullet BB lived within reasonable distance of each other and we seemed to get along well. I think it was Ammohead (who I haven't seen here yet) suggested we all get together. That was at Topaz Lake, NV. That was in '00.

After that it was held in Winnemucca, NV and hosted by the BruceB (posting as Bren Mk1 here) family. That's him playing rangemaster in the back of the flatbed and his daughter is there in the middle foreground shooting. That fat person in the ball cap behind her is me :-). Idabull is the suspendered individual.

 -

A couple of the guys brought a small sample of their steenking peestols.

It has grown to the point to where it is now 2 days long. Friday night we have to have the Rooles Kommittee meeting where things get all ironed out........ and then usually promptly forgotten!

Saturday is shooting. There are several competitions avail to shoot for bragging rights only. Although the awards pixies (he, he!) have for the past couple years produced some very nicely finished oak placks (plaques?)with engraved brass plates for each event being, "The Order of The Golden Wheel Weight". I have a picture of it, but it's on my PC at home.

Saturday night is a BBQ at the BruceB homestead. Sunday is more shooting and folks trying to get their name on, or BACK on the board in some event. Sunday night is the awards banquet. In the photo below you can see one of the awards in the bottom right corner being held out, and some further back along the table. I'm the large person behind the large person on the right in the white shirt (BruceB) who's holding out an award for the Long Range event. That laughing boy seated across the table from me won it (just barely) this year. That's Ammohead.

Attendees come from Montana, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Colorado, North & Southern Calif. Did I leave out a state? So how is it? Just pretend you're at a family reunion where they're all your friends and they all like to do it the way God intended ......... That would be, Offhand, over Iron Sights and with cast lead BOOLITS!

You can see other pictures of each event at www.castpics.net. That is, except for THIS year's. You see, we have this homeless person who manages the website. I think he's about to have his stock options cut off :-).

One oddity is that it seems a tradition evolved where on the last night, everyone seems to gravitate to Duke (Nevada Duke here) and Curmudgeon's motel room. I'm sure they wish that someone else had that, uh honor. They're pretty good about it though. And that's the deal. Everyone is sure welcome. Even if you don't have a firearm to bring, there is no end to those you'd be able to use.

Just as well that you are on the other side of the country Mike as it looks like from the pics to be an old farts convention. [Big Grin] And I would likely fit right in but I'm on the wrong side of the border.lol derf
