I have a Rem 40X in 6X47 I'm thinking about setting up for cast bullets. It has a 1:14 twist, so I doubt it'll work with my current RCBS 95gr. bullet. I see SAECO makes a 85gr. design, but haven't been able to find any lighter weight 6MM moulds. Does anybody here know if the SAECO will shoot with a twist this slow, or know of anybody else making a lighter 6MM bullet?

Just try it with the bullets that you have now. If they are short enough they may work fine.

It's not hard to make them shorter either! Just cut some 95's back to 85 and file them to match the weight. Make a jig to do it like this: Drill a blind hole into something and put the bullet in nose first. File the base to the surface of the jig.

I have made brass inserts for molds to cast shorter bullets. They work really well as an insert in the nose or base. I have even made hollow point cast bullets for the 32 ACP.

Have fun.
