Gents,
I have found something to try...A friend mentioned a web forum service called aimoo,it seems they allow free forums to be set up as well as pay forums. Well to keep this short,I have set up a forum called of all things,,,Cast Boolits" feel free to try a few test posts....as I get the hang of it I will attempt to rename the boards to resemble our tastes. http://www.aimoo.com/forum/freeboard.cfm?id=514616

Well try it again carpetman...everything I see says all lights are green....have you logged in on another aimoo forum perhaps ? have you a password you use on all forums ? Maybe CRS ? So far I see possibilities with this. 45nut (only 1 T on the end of Nut)

45 nut, I got signed up at aimoo, but had to use a different handle. I got the welcoming e-mail OK, but don't know to use it to complete the sign-up process. What did you do? Regards, curmudgeon

Gents,
I really don't remember it being hard, I just signed up last nite and started the board tonite.
Not a "computer geek" here either but if you forward your emails to me at 45nut@mynra.com I would be happy to help the best I can. Here is the link for the help file on how to register for those that would like to look it over....www.aimoo.com/forum/help/tip/index.cfm?id=2

There has to be a reason for an opportunity like this to arise....I am thinking because it would be justice,Shooters dies and I find a solution staring right at me over my 'irons'.

I tried signing up and it said that my username and email were already in use, so I just logged in and joined the forum. There must have been some other board associated with this place. I tried to register at all the places that came up when there was the first shooters scare. maybe see if there is an option to email your password to you so you can log in if you don't remember what it might be???

I signed up but it won't let me change my password to something I can remember. Are you going to open a "Cats" room for Carpetman, like the so called Small Game Forum here? Buckshot2, you could probably have gotten in simply by changing the 'o' to an 'i'... [Smile] (VBG)

Gents,
I thought I would bring this back around to give a good look and ask a few questions about those of you that have visited the board.
Would you rather I deleted most of the categories and just let the posts fly in one basic Cast Boolit thread ?
Without hearing your concerns I am merely guessing and I would rather have the straight scoop. In Your Service 45nut

Since you asked for these peanut gallery comments, yeah I'd trim it back some to focus it on either the cast bullet listing or maybe just the shooters listing (honoring our roots).

We are gonna always post everything everywhere anyway, so maybe you don't need to spread your traffic out into those the topic-based mini-domains. You need to focus your traffic so it shows some good activity better.

Later now, you might expand out later (maybe after it has grown a bit) -- but not now. Now you need folks in the same bucket so they can see each other.

There isn't any copywrite on the name Shooters (there may have been on the web domain Shooters.com but we ain't calling it that) so you can use that freely.

Next, I'd personally plan on staying a bit active on both of these forums, both here and there since you never can tell which forum will bite the "bad economy" bullet next. This is simple caution since we have lost our home twice now just because of "oops, it's gone". I will, anyway.

A stategic spare list is a good thing to have.

Next, you are going to have to be willing to "teach school" a bit on how to use the new list. It has some really nice features, but it is a lot of NEW in the advanced features and us Neanderthals ain't so good at new when it comes flying at us too fast.

Most of us just bookmark the main topic listing page set up the way we like to see it run, and then most of us follow it chrono with a peek a the threads listing occasionally. Teach us how to do that first.

Just a single peanut sitting in the gallery,

Oldfeller

PS Got your favorite handle locked down there yet?
