the linotype i got has some tiny strips of copper and steel in it..... i know the steel will float in the pot and be takin out but what about copper? will it melt into the alloy or float too????

Float or Melt ?

It shouldn't melt if it is copper or brass
as they have higher melting points than Lead.

It'll float. I worked as a typecaster for a while and with lino EVERYTHING floats.


for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

thanks for the replies guys... i thought it would float but i wasn't sure about the melting point of the copper...... or even if it did melt into the alloy would such a small amount matter.....
