Anybody here tried powder coating their cast bullets rather than useing lube? Seem as though some of the boys over at Cast Boolits are having success with it. D, with some parameters one can shoot plain unlubed cast or lead bullets to a certain degree of accuracy. It's very limited in velocity. Very much the same with PC bullets. About the most successful coated bullets are the Nyclad from Federal. Stick with the conventional lubed cast bullets.

Thanks for the insight SmokinJ. I'll be shooting cast in my 375 JDJ rifle for plinking. I figure with 250 grainers maybe in the 1600/1750 fps range. I sized a few bullets .001 over groove diameter to give them a try. Havn't tried them yet. Do you think that I might need to go .002 over groove diameter? You really need to fit the throat of the rifle and not be so much concerned with the groove diameter, providing that what you do use is never smaller then the groove diameter. It is also important that if you shoot throat size diameter that it's not so fat that your cartridge won't chamber. You can get a very accurate throat measurement using a "pound cast". You can also use a cerosafe casting.
