Babbit metal composition

In my continuing quest for cheap casting metal, I just found three ingots of babbit metal. One is marked with a G, the othe two are marked with LGS. They feel like about seven pounds and look kind of oxidized lead colored. The G seems softer and a tad heavier. Anybody have a clue what there composition might be? I know that's a lousy description, but what can you say about a hunk of metal?
Thanks

babbit metal runs the gamut. It was designed as a bearing material and there were a zillion formulations for the various applications- high speed, slow speed, shock loading, etc. On top of that the manufacturers were all very secretive of their personal formulations. Best thing to do IMHO is just treat each piece individually.

Trying to get my head around how to mix it. Maybe make it into ingots, then mix a pot of plain lead, and make it at a 1:20 mix. Make a couple bullets, check weight, do the claculations, then check for hardness, and amybe shoot a few? Seems like a lot of messing around. Any thoughts?
