This is kinda trivial, but I was casting a quick batch of Maxi balls and the wood handle on my only set of small handles split and fell off. Bet I have had that happen a dozen times ofer the years.

I looked around for a "field expedient", as we used to say, and came up with a length of CPVC 1/2" pipe. Cut off about 6" and jammed it onto the stub. Cast about a hundred Maxi balls and got the mould about as hot as I will let one get. No sign of melting or softening.

Hope this saves someone else som aggravation.

Now that is an interesting idea! I'd have thought the pipe would melt.
