I'm new to the Beaverton,OR area and need to find a source of lead for casting. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. | ||

I may not live on the west cost, but the east cost, north east. When I need lead I talk to the guys down at the tire places. I picked up 150lbs wheel weights for $10! Using "WW" can save you time and maybe even a bit of cash. Because now you do not need to mix in tin or any other things you would think of adding to make them harder. You can also with in reason push them faster if you wish. Just be careful and be safe. Good luck! I was talking to someone from the power company and he said they used to have a huge pile of lead tubing from when they used to use the lead on the wires. Maybe if you take a trip over to your power co.(s) and ask them you may get some wicked good and pure lead for almost free. But this info is a few years old. Plumbers lead is "near pure" and available at plumbing supply houses. Wheelweights are not pure lead. They contain tin and antimony. They make very good, hard cast bullets. NRA Patron Life Member Benefactor Level | |||
