| Charles....The 257-89-GC is pretty close and weighs just a tad more than the 257312 but is a darn nice clone....maybe just a little longer. Shoots well in the 25-20 as well as the 25/35. I had both at one time and let pilgrim have the NEI for his 25-20. I highly recommend it as a substitute if you're tired of waiting for one to come your way.
I just had a SC 257312 HP'd and it weighs 88.8 grains ready to load. Shoots really well in the 25/35 but I haven't gotten around to trying it in the 25-20.
I just loaded sundog down with a few to try in the 25-20./beagle |

| I have been using 257312 or about 30 years in the 25-20. Backed by 9/H4227 it is deadly about about 1,600-1,700 fps. I have killed hundreds of jack rabbits with a good number of coyotes. porcupines, coons, possums and javalina thrown for measure. Any such critter hit in the right spot will keel over grave yard dead. It is a remarkable little bullet that is very, very reliable on small game and varmits. I have a Winchester 92 and a Remington 25 in 25-20, both with peep sights. In either rifle, this bullet and load will deliver 2 - 2.5 MOA on any day. Plenty for the the ask at hand. |

| Charger,
Using the 257312 in a model 43 & 92 Winchesters has been a joy for 20 years for me too. 3.5 gr Red Dot was one of the first. 9gr 2400, 5gr Unique,7gr 4759, 8.5gr5744,13gr H322, 13 gr RL7, 9gr of the old WW680,all are under 2" at 100yds. The little 257420 is only 73gr, but looks the same when loaded, and shoots almost better with some load adjustments...Geo |

| Gentlemen, This is just the information I have been looking for!!! My 25-20 has been silent for so long, and the 25-35 has spoken only with full length gas checks. Thanks again for the heads up, Regards, |

That NEI #19 (Lyman 257312 lookalike) has been calling to me for some time. I already use NEI #20 and #21, and am very happy with both molds.
I was wondering how NEI is working out after re-starting production recently. I'd like to order this mold, but unanswered E-mails several months ago did not inspire confidence. |

| Deputy Al..Seem like NEI is up and running now. I sent an email asking about repair to a mould and i received a reply the next day. I sent the mould to El Pao and had it back in ten days with a bill which I payed by return mail. |

I'm going to order the mold later this week. I need a boolit for the 25-20's, and this might be a more flexible design for the 250 Savage than the #20, which favors relatively high velocities for better accuracy. |
