Congratulations, nice pig.

In the photo I can see what you mean about the fog. Sometimes it gets really dark and gloomy like that here too. Wink

The Hunt goes on forever, the season never ends.

I didn't learn this by reading about it or seeing it on TV. I learned it by doing it.

Ryan, She was not with me that weekend or the old boy would have wondered past her stand first. Big Grin She has all the luck.

So.... It was foggy as hell and I walked to the closest stand to camp which is easy to get to by just following a fence. It took longer than usual for shooting light to come due to the fog. When I could start to see shapes I noticed a black blob under the feeder. Looking through the binos confirmed that it was a big hog, estimated to be about as big as the feeder barrel. It could only be none other than Old Blackie. Seen by all the lease members but never shot at. He never comes to the feeders in daylight and never walks near a stand, and he is always alone. Well I looked through my scope and could not see details but could see distinct shapes and could tell which end was which. When he turned broadside I let him have a Nosler Partition in the head. He wend down right under the feeder and I gave him another through the spine just to make sure. I was unable to drag him out from under the feeder so I had to go get my Jeep and use the tow strap to get him out to take the photo.

My rifle is an early Browning A-Bolt Medallion Left Hand in 30-06. It was loaded with handloads of Nosler Partition 150 gr. at about 2400 fps. The scope is a Leupold 6x 42mm.
