63+ views and no responses..... shurly there has to been a few people on here that think shooting hogs from a helicopter is gonna be fun.
heck it would be good shooting practise for our military/miltia, scouts/cadets depending on age

just replace hogs with enemey troops and see the practice carries right over...

Yep, I want to go, but I dont know if I can part with that much $ for one hunt. I think it will get cheaper as more operators get set up.

Unfortunately, today it is more politically correct to shoot at pigs in a chopper.

I would love to shoot pigs from a chopper. I always wanted to be a door gunner.

lol haha i have full metal jacket i have it on vhs, dvd, blue ray and i have 1 collectors edition case set of that movie as well its a classic.

a door gunner would fun but id much rather a marksman/rifleman position at least then they dont have to spray wash whats left of me out of the helicopter after landing in a heavy fire zone

i have found a few more operators that offer cheaper hunts and even there this operator price will drop a bit over the next year as more and more join the market and pricing for helicopter hunts become more widly available

they defintly need to go this rout in austrailia for there wild boar/brumbi(wild donkey) problem as well as wild feral camels

Even pigs deserve more respect than these idiots. They aren't aiming they are just spraying and praying. I dn't care if its a pig or an elk it deserves a clean shot

yeah shooting from a helicopter takes some practise ..........fucking hogs dont deserve any kind of quater or "specail treatment" there not even a game animal there a usless pos invasive trash garbage animal that dosnt belong so i could care less if people wound 100 or a 1000 it just means more will die sooner rather than later

this is not a hunt its all out "extermination" wich is fine by me im good at exterminating

Actually, I am rather fond of hunting them and do so quite often. While they breed faster than rabbits and do their fair share of damage (and then some), I don't consider them "trash garbage animals." I have found that they can be more challenging to hunt than deer -- they're a whole bunch smarter and their nose is second to none. Plus, if the meat is not gamey, it will most certainly wind up in my freezer and eventually on my plate. I love pork, and wild pork is some of the best pork I have had the pleasure eating.

While extermination is appropriate, you can feed a lot of folks with the meat.

Here in California we pay for tags, over $20.00 for each pig. This has been steadily increasing since I was younger and it was free, then a book of tags [Fish and Game said it was so they could keep track of the harvest], now we have a new reason. We in California pay some fine shots from ProHunt In., New Zealand to shoot our pigs on the Channel Islands. They use helicopters. We are not allowed to hunt those Islands just the contract with New Zealand.

It bothers me because, I cannot get a permit to kill them on our ranches unless they are harming something I built or planted, and it cannot be native seeds. So, I restored a wet meadow and a spring that is now destroyed. States says that's nature and I need to get over it.

If they rooted up a corn crop I could get a depredation permit, but not anything native, even though they are not native....Hmmm...California...Oh that was a $7million a year contract.

Sorry for the Hi-jack!

Now that the pigs are gone, the non-native turkeys are doing great and ProHunt has been hired again, but now to shoot the turkeys, so the golden eagles will leave and not kill the endangered native subspecies of fox....but wait, what are the fox eating???? Oh they haven't got a good indicator on that yet either.

I am a wildlife biologist and this makes me sick. Why can't California pull their heads out.

Again, sorry for the hi-jack! I think shooting from the helicopter is a great way to keep numbers down and is a challenge as well.

700N, you sound like someone who needs to spend a bit of time in the woods around animals... even though hogs are a menace, they deserve a clean kill. To "spray and pray" as it is sometimes called, is inhumane, irresponsible, and immature, as I see it. Even an animal deserves quick dispatch.

Sorry for the rant, I have just seen too much cruelty; yes, even with hogs.

We have all heard about the distance a bullet will travel when fired from the ground. Can you imagine the distance covered by a stray or accidental discharge from the air?

The fee involved in Texas is something like $750.00 for a safety class, then there is the rental of the helicopter and the pilot fees, and the fee from the landowner.

Something is amuck here. I strongly suspect the people involved in creating/allowing this type of hunt must have a bunch of helicopters sitting idle not making money. Of course I have been wrong before.............TBC

iv also hunted boar in texas on a a few occasions and will probably be making it down there again in feb maybe by the end of this month possibly for a little hunting action

i may nopt be politicaly correct at all times maybe even a little rough but i get the jobs done and done effectivly.

I don't dream about it as I have been doing it for years. It was always legal but the landowner couldn't charge for it. Now they can. It's the most fun you can have with your pants on! I used my M16 and it was a blast. Coyotes and bobcats are legal as well. No need for a safety class as the pilot will keep an eye on you. Helicopters run between 450-550 an hour plus transport mileage.
