What can you guys recommend as reasonably priced scopes for night pig hunting
Nothing fancy as log as they are reliable and simple to operate( Don’t need all the bells and whistles)

i have had, and will continue to trust the brand, several digisight products. for straight up night hunting, i thought the n750 was AMAZING. i haven't kept up with their newest models

from a seasoned hog hunter, the two biggest drawbacks of the n750 and back are lack of green screen/too bright and manual focus.

the too bright part made you feel "blind" in one eye, if you stared too long then took your face away

the manual focus, which works fine, is on the wrong side of the scope body for right handed people -- rather than lift your left hand and adjust, it's your right

Don't know what "reasonable" means to you, but I have both a thermal scope and a thermal monocular so I don't have to keep waving the rifle around to scan thru the scope. I tried an inexpensive night vision (not thermal) scope to use for scanning but it wasn't what I needed so I sent it back and got credit toward the monocular. Here are links to both items. I recommend you call this company and speak with Jason---he gives good advice based on experience and not marketing hype.

And, per jeffeosso's comment about one-eye vision, he's correct. Looking thru either my scope or monocular, you will have a dark eye and a light eye. Not an issue other than getting used to it because if you spot a hog on the scan, you are gonna go to the scope and the difference between eyes won't matter. If you don't go to the scope, your dark adaptation will return in a minute or so.

George—you are correct but how do you put a price on fun and preserving the environment thru hog eradication?

And, Geedubya, I am zeroed at 50 yds as well. Amazing how close you can sneak up to them in the dark with the right wind. Only bad thing about sneaking at night is stepping in all the cow pies.

I haven’t been able to force myself to pay the thermal price just to hunt hogs. My hog hunting is in food plots and shots are never over 200yds and usually 100yds or less.

My Sightmark photon XT has worked great for me and was dirt cheap compared to thermal units. It ain’t perfect but it works day or night, and in my situation, is just right.

No doubt thermal is the best...but I’m not convinced it’s right for everyone.

Just don't slip and sit in one!!
