Been fighting bronchitis, knowing the pigs are finally hitting the feeders. Acorn supply is dried up. Could not stand it any longer, bundled up and sat last night. This big guy showed up around nine. He would stick his head in the feeder pen and lights the duck out again. There is a lot of tall dead grass around the feeder but I could see his dark body moving around. Saw him headed in on the side of the pen so I got ready! When his shoulder cleared the Tee post I touched off the 375 Ruger. He was thrashing around some so I sent another 250 gr. Sierra. Second shot was not necessary. After photos, dragging him to the truck I had to put the chain on his leg. I just could not jerk/drag him with out it. Guess 250# maybe a little more.

Very nice. Winter up here in the northeast makes me "almost" wish we had free range hogs.

No don't get around 37 anymore. I call it the "chin can". I have watched too many African hunting shows where they put the lion and leopards on a sand mound. Pose pigs too!

Do you keep count, or ever change cans? You've gotten a lot of use out of that one. George "Gun Control is NOT about Guns' "It's about Control!!" Join the NRA today!" LM: NRA, DAV, George L. Dwight

I carry the can in the bed of my truck as a trash can. I stuff cube bags, tops, string and other trash in it. Keeps stuff from blowing out or rolling around. I carry a grubbing hoe back there also. Put the can between the hoe handle and the side of the bed so the can does not roll. I have gone through 5 or 6, most get too bent up. ATV tires when loading the ATV! I just think it makes the pig look better, if that is possible!!!
