I tried the Tejon Ranch hunt in March 2004 and hardly any of the 50 hunters in the North side even saw a pig, but that was an anomaly. What happened was the temperature had changed from cool to hot just a few days before the weekend hunt, and so the pigs had moved up to higher elevation to keep cool. So what we think happened was that down in the lower elevations, there was sign, but no pigs. At higher elevations, there were pigs (we were told) but no sign because the pigs hadn't been at that altitude very long. If you go on one of the earlier hunts in Jan/Feb, sudden temperature change shouldn't be a problem, but the rains make the roads very slick so you'll definitely need a 4WD. The terrain is very mountainous, with steep canyons, thick brush and narrow trails along hillsides. The weather and the scenery were beautiful and I didn't even mind that much that we didn't get a shot at a pig. Any day hunting is a good day. Hunter 308

Thanks for the input guys. I am trying to decide if it's worth the price or to just go guided up in PR area. Tejon is only 2.5 hrs, away from my home.
