I took a hog in Vermont at Wild Hill Preserve on Friday. I made a one shot kill with my .300 Win Mag at 75 yards. This place has quite a few exotic game animals, but Russian boar is the premier trophy. They clearly bring them in, and mine was a three to four year old, but they breed there too. I'll go back again.

I have it hanging in my shed now. Three weeks should do it.

Nice work. I bet that was a beautiful hunt. Do you have any pictures? I'd love to see it.

Sorry it took me so long to post this, but it is my first time, and I didn't have a place I could download from. Now I do.

We ate the sauteed loins (backstraps), and tenderloins a few days ago. They were excellent. Tomorrow we will have a shoulder braised with sauerkraut.

The meat is so good, that I am considering going for another one in March.

I went to Wild Hill a couple years ago. I will say it was some of the best meat I've ever eaten. If it weren't so costly (all total) I might think about doing it again with my bow. I wouldn't kill one with a gun again as it wasn't hunting.
