Well, the first place has produced a couple of hogs so far, and the camera showed they had been in the big pen trap 15 of 17 nights, so I set the trap. Next morning---nothing--trap was un-sprung and corn was still inside the trigger tire. Went back today and they have been in the trap 3 in a row so come Tuesday I'll set the trap again. Whether or not I catch any hogs, 2 nights and I'll start trapping 'coons---had 8 in one photo. Gonna go for a sit with the bow tomorrow evening. Report to follow.

Now--about the second place. Put out the camera, filled the trap bait feeder, and the big feeder a week ago. Gave 'em a week and checked the cameras, though the trails in the vicinity were still active and had near-fresh tracks all around. Well, first night had a nice 10-pt at the feeder but no hogs. Second night, again the buck and a couple of does. Third night---one boar. Fourth night---two boars. Fifth night---3 boars and a big sow, and then the next nights, there were 15 or so mixed hogs at the feeder. Winds look promising this week, so I'll be after 'em, either with the rifle or bow. Again, report to follow.

Weather hasn't cooperated for a sit with the bow, so I set the big trap tonight---had 9 in it 2 nights ago and they've been there 9 nights in a row, so should have some trapped pork in the AM.

Sometimes plans work--

This:

Became this:

And here's how to move 8 dead hogs at once when they are too big to lift into the truck bed.

Hot dog!

Looks like the whole litter!

Can't tell much from my limited knowledge.
What did they weigh about?

Thanks for sharing, bang up job there.

George

georgeld--I didn't weigh any of them but the 3 I lifted to the tailgate weighed about 80 lbs and they were the 3 smallest.

Tried to get them all "adopted" into someone's freezer but only had takers for 3. I 'strapped out one of them for my freezer and will fire up the smoker next week--
