No pigs then pigs at all the feeders! Sat last night at a friend's home place. Deer hit the corn as the feeder went off. About 9:50 it was down to one nice buck then he left. Around 10:15 saw a black spot in the moon shade of live oak tree that was too black! Mr. Pig! He was meticulously searching the ground out side the light for any corn the deer left. Twice he was headed into the light and I had the safety off only turn out of it. Then all he had to clear was the battery box for the lights. At 11:15 87 grain Speer 257 Roberts and he was dead right there! 208.2 boar Never did find a entry or exit hole nor did he bleed from anywhere.

Looks like a good boar to me. Dead is Dead. Did you keep anything or just send to the buzzard buffet? Be Well, Packy.

Great you got another one.

What's the deal with this popgun?

Thought all you shot hogs with
were cannons?

Nice stick on that thing too.

Thanks for sharing.

Nice chunker. The one I shot on Monday dropped like a sack of potatoes from a aluminum-tipped 166 grainer. No entry wound from a upper neck shot and no exit and the head shot between the eye and ear also had no entry wound.
Way to drop 'im.

Traded for the "Bob" a number of years ago. Hoped one day my wife might sit with me. That probably will not happen! Oldest granddaughter will be big enough next season for the "Bob". Trying to get things right with it. Never liked it because the scope adjustment block was against the front of the back ring and still too far forward. Found a Weaver adapter from EABCO, now its just the trigger that needs work. At my friend's home place things a little tight space wise. Smaller is better there. Had to try her out!

From what I've read, that pig would be a lot deader if you used a large caliber rifle.

For sure---the two places I hunt have been mainly medium to large boars for the past 4-5 months, but in the past 10 days I have had large sounders of sows, shoats, and piglets show up at both places--

Back to trapping time.

HA! That comment reminds me of taking the 5y/o
son along duck hunting. He enjoyed acting as
retriever for half dozen of us on a firing line. We kept him from getting bored as long as
the ducks flew and usually one or a few every
couple minutes or so. With maybe ten shooters it kept him occupied.

A mallard drake flew over close and I nailed it
with a load of lead #2'S from a 3" mag. Kid
had to go further after that one as it launched. This was in '73 before the steel shot
screwing took place. I've always been real slow getting a shot off. Let the other guys shoot first then when the birds kept flying and were way the hell out there I blasted 'em. Never missed in those days after the first ten days of it.

This time when he came back he had a real strange look on his face. "what's the matter Mitch?" "Daddy this duck feels funny" "well hell, he's dead" "all the others were dead too this one feels different" "let's see".

I'd centered it and blew the body out of the
feathers! Oh yeah, deads dead, right? HA!
