jdollar inspired this thread. Please post photos of the bushpigs you have hunted. I have been intrigued with them for some time and now I am positively inspired! Thanks in advance!

James, you need a hosting site like photobucket where you upload the pictures and then you can post them. If this is too much trouble, I will PM you my e-mail address an you can e-mail them to me and I will post them.

I just sent you a PM.......

Here is my little bushpig from Zimbabwe and a tiny bit larger one taken by Keith of Woodlands Ranch in RSA.

My Pig was taken at night while waiting on a maurading band of Hyenas to make their rounds. We had been baiting for 3 nights in a row and the hyenas seemed to know we were there and would only come by after we left.
There was a small waterhole nearby and we spotted a couple of bushpig moving in. At 200 meters they looked tiny but it was late and I decided to give it a go. I was using a .375 with 260 partitions and held right on top of his crest of hair. The bullet caught him just back of the ear as he was moving away. We were using a handheld flashlight but I managed to hit him and he never moved again. The angle sent the partition through his jaw.
Photo the next morning at sunrise.

No, you can also run dogs on them like we do in the States, or you can get one like my father’s friend (bump one up while hunting for something else). beer

where i hunted them in Moz, they were out all day. it was no problem to find them but getting them to stand still was another matter( see my hunt report posted a few weeks ago). during my 10 day hunt, i could easily have killed 8-10 boars in broad daylight.

Bushpigs are cool. I'd love to get one but in three safaris I've never even seen the tracks of one. Congratulations to those who have connected.
