Well, had the north wind I've been waiting for, and sat from 7:30 until 10 and didn't see a thing-no deer, no 'coons, and no pigs. Well, I did see a ba-zillion stars and a few airplane lights, and a few bugs in the feeder pen lights. I'm going out to fill the feeder with some free feed I got from a friend who owns an agri-supply wholesale house. It came back from a store because it has weevils in it and he got a credit from the supplier and offered it to me (he also owns the place I bowhunt - for free) and is a great guy and friend. The feed is a combination of roasted soybeans and corn, and I don't think the pigs will mind the extra protein.

Next sit for a pig is Tuesday evening, and the moon will be brightening up.

Sometimes a simple change-up like that can make a big difference.

Here's hoping to see some photos after that Tuesday evening hunt...

Dustoffer,
I used to use a combo that was called trophy mix, which consisted of green peas, corn and roasted soybean. Deer and hogs would leave a feeder with corn to get to that stuff. Roasted soybean have a smell like peanut butter. Hogs seem to go nuts over it. If it still has the aroma it bet the hogs will beat a path to your feeder. Good luck and good shootin'
GWB.

Geedubya--this stuff I have is called simply "Wildlife Feed" and the ingredients listing only has the percentages of protein, fiber, etc, and not the specific vegetable products. Sure hope it works good 'cuz I got 3 or 4 folks lined up waiting for a pig.

Lorenzo--you sound like the kind of hunter that could sit a week, not see a target animal nor take a shot, and call it a good hunt!!!!

Of course, as the old saying goes, "The worst day hunting beats the best day working."
