Well, as I am computer illerate, I can't figure out how to post a pic, but my son and a friend caught a fine one last Saturday. They went hunting a few miles up the Mississippi River from where we live with my son's dogs. Came home with a barrow, weighed 455 pounds and had 7" tusks. One was at such angle as to have penetrated the left cheek about 1", the other was real close. With a bulldog on each ear the catch was easy, the hard part was to lay that thing on his side. They handcuffed him and drug him about 100yds right up on to the trailer, killed him after they got home. I'd give anything to pop one like that with my 30/40AI. GW

Email it to me and I will post for you. Or, go to photobucket.com and sign up. It is free. When you upload your photo there, simply cursor over the top right of the image, and a wheel will pop up. CLick on it, click on get links and then click on the appropriate one (it will copy it). Then just paste that in a thread here.

he could definitely put a hurt on man or dog in a hurry.
Good on ya'll GoatWhiskers.
Be sure and don't be a stranger. There are a number of us here that love to hunt porkers almost more than anything else one can do with your clothes on. In fact when it's 110+ degrees out in September,

I'm tempted to go nekkid. But cactus and the heat off an ATV can mess with yo' "hangy down" parts.

Well, I want to get into some serious hog hunting, right now my git-along got a hitch in it. They've been treating me for over a year for a nerve disorder, now I find out it's probably caused by a bulging disc. Talking about replacing two discs and screwing on some kinda stabilizer, Doc swears I'll be good to go. Don't wanna but guess I will if I want to keep hunting. GW

I don't claim to be an expert on discs, backs, or anything else but a very good friend of mine is and has been going thru the same issues. He is currently getting injections into the discs. It is painful, but seems to work for a year or two. Personally, I'd look into this BEFORE I committed to surgery. I know a back surgeon who says he would avoid back surgery at all costs. I'm not at all saying you should not follow your Doctor's advice, but it never hurts to be sure that ANY medical advice is the best or only choice.

If you want to discuss my friend's experiences with him, PM me and I'll give you his number. He was set for surgery and based on his last MRI, his doctors decided to continue with the injection choice.

BTW, helluva hog. Congrats.

Just having fun at your expense. We all enjoy listening to Gato "make a long story short"

Sorry to get off topic. That is one massive tusked porker! Probably another inch below the gumline if you do a bleached skull mount.

I have had bulged discs since 2005. I have avoided surgery by utilizing chiropractic and accupressure. I feel your pain brother.

hellova pig - when the discs get bad enough the surgery willbe fine, but it does take a year or 2 for a recovery. what happens eventually is that the vertebra begin to shift position and pinch off the nerves. then replacement disc or fusion is it. had my first fusion 4 years ago and the next one is being looked at now

In reference to the disc problems it depends where they are. Lumbar or cervical are usually operable with ease. Mine are thoracic and nobody wants to touch them.
