Here are the results of the session using 4 different factory loads for the K3 and 3 for the Mauser. There was a head- on wind varying from 5 to 20 mph. Target at 100 yards. If interested... my other post also shows the final hand load for my K1. * indicates best group, ** second best. Just missed second ***. Shots fired & group size at right. K3 Extreme, Temperature 40F. Clear skies. Caliber-'30-'06 No barrel cool down in between. **Remington Whitetail 150 grain Cor-Lokt 5/1.06" Federal Premium 180 gr Nosler AccuBond. 4/1.44" Federal Premium 165 gr Nosler Partition 5/2" ***Federal Premium 180 gr Nosler Partition 5/1.12" Barrel cool down then- *Federal Premium 180 gr Nosler Partition 3/.62" Mauser Model M12 No change in weather conditions. 30-06 No cool down. Federal Premium 180 gr Nosler Accubond 3/2..6" **Federal Premium 165 gr Nosler Partition 5/1.38" Federal Premium 180 gr Nosler Partition 5/1.69" From previous session for the M12. *Remington Whitetail 150 gr Core-Lokt 3-4(?) / 1.25" Best pix of the session including the K1 group. Not bad for factory ammo. A few clicks here and there and the FP Nosler Partitions will work just fine. The QD lever on the Extreme gouged my thumb. Didn't expect that. Gdub - Minute of deer too. Well within the borders of a 9 inch paper plate.
